BATTER
This is a simple batter for deep
frying like tempura.
1 tbsp of plain,wholemeal or
gram flour.
1/4 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
enough water
Mix the flour, salt and baking
powder together .
Add enough water to make soft
batter.
VEGETABLE TEMPURA
Ingredients
1/4 onion, sliced
5 cm carrot, chopped into
match sticks
5 cm parsnip, chopped
into match sticks
5 cm swede, chopped
into match sticks
1. Pour oil into saucepan,
about 2.5cm deep and heat.
2. Mix the vegetable with
batter and spoon a small
amount into hot oil and
deep fry.
Onion or parsnip make nice
tempura.
